Summary

Join Taskrabbit's Localisation team in London as an experienced localisation specialist, managing cross-functional globalisation needs with expertise in either German or British English. You will coordinate translation work with external agencies, adapt content, and contribute to content development. Responsibilities include maintaining linguistic assets, supporting stakeholders, and managing cross-functional projects. This remote-first role requires 2 days a week in the London office. Requirements

  • Either German or British English localisation expert
  • A passion for language, communication, and storytelling
  • A minimum of 5 years’ localisation experience with a strong background in translation, linguistics, content creation, and cultural adaptation
  • Excellent communication and organising skills. You are capable of carrying out all duties in a fast-paced environment as part of a remote-first international team
  • Solid understanding of CAT tools, including familiarity with MT and AI-driven workflows and tools
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and solve problems related to localisation workflows, processes, and content
  • Experienced project manager, capable of working cross-functionally and delivering on time
  • A team player—You’ll be joining a small, cohesive team
  • Experienced working on requests from various functions: Marketing, Product and Engineering, Customer Support, Partnerships, etc
  • A forensic eye for detail and a strong curiosity about how things work

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the team’s localisation workflow management, creating and/or vetting requests, with a special focus on either German or British English
  • Coordinate work with our dedicated translation agencies, and build a relationship with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain reference materials for linguists, to keep a consistent voice in your locale and ensure best practices
  • Perform Quality Assurance checks as part of our Localisation Quality Programme, assessing the quality of translations provided by our vendors, to ensure they are of the highest standard and they adhere to our linguistic assets
  • Translate and/or review translations directly on our TMS (Smartling)
  • Collaborate with different teams, such as Product, Marketing, Partnerships and Ops, on the production of content for SEO, blog articles, training materials, and promotional assets
  • Carry out localisation audits, testing the full user journey in our localised version of the web and app
  • Project manage cross-functional international initiatives, working with remote teams in different areas and time zones

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in QA is an added advantage
