Summary

Join Sunnova, a leading adaptive energy services company, as the Manager of Grid Services Policy. This role involves facilitating Sunnova’s grid services policy engagement in key US markets, collaborating with various stakeholders, and advocating for policies supporting rooftop solar, storage, and other clean energy systems. You will represent Sunnova as an expert, providing thought leadership and engaging with regulators, policymakers, and the media. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in energy markets and regulatory bodies, along with strong communication and organizational skills. Requirements

  • Education required: BS/BA in business, energy, political science or related fields
  • Minimum years of experience required: 5-7 years in similar roles

Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of industry and regulatory trends and makes recommendations regarding company strategies with respect to grid services, virtual power plants and microgrids
  • Operate in conjunction with the grid services team to create grid services offerings by providing legislative and regulatory intel to the team and advocating for rule/program changes to facilitate the company’s involvement in programs
  • Advocate for programs, rules and regulations that facilitate the smooth operation of the company’s work and accelerate the company’s ability to provide additional energy services to the grid
  • Develop and lead proactive strategies to build new market opportunities, particularly for home solar + storage systems, virtual power plants and microgrids
  • Represent the company as an expert in meetings with regulators, agency officials, legislators, utilities, other companies, trade associations, non-profits and media
  • Manage outside consultants

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Ability to operate autonomously and to represent the company in discussions with trade associations, policymakers, non-profits and senior leaders
  • Exceptional writing and public speaking skills
  • Ability to organize and manage several priorities simultaneously while working under pressure and deadlines
  • Highly organized and works with close attention to detail
