Requirements

  • At least 7 years of combined copywriting experience in agency and pharmaceutical advertising space; knowledge of both HCP and DTC work required
  • At least 2 years of supervisory/management experience required
  • Track record of independently producing successful, compelling, and strategically sound pharmaceutical promotional materials (must submit portfolio with resume)
  • Strong collaborator with Art partner; can think visually to strengthen creative and tactical development
  • Ability to think critically, make effective decisions, and creatively problem-solve on the fly
  • Demonstrated proficiency delivering quality work within tight deadlines; positive attitude; goal-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability ideating on-brief creative concepts
  • Advanced Mac experience with MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Able to understand scientific information on a level appropriate to create clear and succinct pharmaceutical and healthcare copy
  • Proven experience with adding marginal annotations in medically heavy pieces for regulatory submissions

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Creative (Art & Copy), Strategy, and Medical to develop content for HCP and DTC audiences across multiple brands in rare disease
  • Lead and execute both long- and short-form copy, both promotional and educational, across various media and platforms
  • Write compelling and accurate content using scientific and clinical data
  • Have a strong understanding of strategy and drive copy to align to the goals of the brand
  • Reference and annotate content for assigned accounts and projects; prepare manuscript with final annotations and references within the internal submission process
  • Stand in for the ACD of Copy, along with the ACD of Art, when the ACD of Copy is unavailable
  • Work independently on multiple projects across brands, sometimes under tight deadlines
  • Build a strong client relationship and work directly with them to problem-solve
  • Develop creative concepts based on strategic direction, partnering with other Creatives, demonstrating a level of creative excellence
  • Present work both internally and to clients
  • Effectively manage internal and client feedback
  • Review and mark up copy changes on layouts, as needed
  • Work within the editorial process, leveraging client regulatory guidance and OPDP requirements for promotional tactics
  • Manage direct reports, mentor junior members of the team and collaborate across disciplines
