Growth Engineer

eyeo
Summary
Join eyeo's Growth team as a proactive and curious software engineer with a strong front-end focus. You will implement and iterate on growth experiments, contribute to product direction through data-driven insights, and work with cross-functional teammates to improve products used by millions. Daily activities involve coding, designing user-facing solutions for websites, extensions, and mobile apps, collaborating with leads on technical requirements, implementing changes while maintaining code quality, making data-driven decisions, and ensuring smooth communication. The ideal candidate possesses strong front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), 3–5 years of software engineering experience, cloud deployment experience (Google Cloud preferred), and a growth-focused collaborative mindset. The role requires proficiency in A/B testing and a commitment to agile methodologies. Location flexibility is offered with remote work options and offices in Berlin, Cologne, Toronto, and NYC.
Requirements
- Building engaging, user-facing interfaces is where the energy goes. Front-end work isn’t just part of the job, it’s a craft you genuinely enjoy
- Running A/B tests, digging into the results, and letting the data guide what comes next is part of your everyday approach to shipping smarter, not just faster
- Always up for learning something new? That curiosity shines when diving into areas like web extensions or mobile UI, even if it’s outside the usual comfort zone
- Growth-focused collaboration isn’t a new thing. Working side-by-side with Product and Marketing to quickly ship value feels like a natural way of operating
- HTML, CSS and JavaScript, are all familiar territory. And when it comes to building accessible, responsive experiences, you’ve got plenty of hands-on experience to draw from
- A solid foundation in software engineering principles makes complex challenges feel approachable, especially with 3–5 years of experience under the belt
- Deploying to the cloud? That’s not a blocker. Having used platforms like Google Cloud means you’re ready to get things live without breaking a sweat
- Agile isn’t just a buzzword. Iterating, improving and keeping things moving is how progress happens - and how teams get better together
- If there’s a blocker, you don’t sit on it but you loop in the right people and find a way to keep things moving without unnecessary delays
- Comfortable figuring things out on your own, but never hesitant to grab a teammate for a quick chat when input or shared thinking is the better route
- Being based in a CET ±3 timezone, making real-time collaboration with the rest of the team smooth and easy
Responsibilities
- Rolling up your sleeves and diving into the code, even if it’s running on a platform you’re not yet familiar with. You shape and build experiments that aim to deliver real impact fast
- Designing and building user-facing solutions is at the heart of the role. Whether it’s a website, a desktop extension or a mobile app interface, the goal is to create experiences that feel intuitive and seamless for our users
- Working closely with product and engineering leads to help ensure that technical requirements and timelines are crystal clear. Keeping communication smooth and aligned across the board is key to moving fast without confusion
- Implementing changes quickly, but not carelessly. There’s a strong focus on keeping the pace of experimentation high, while still maintaining the quality and stability of the codebase
- Making data-driven decisions, rather than relying on gut feeling. Analyzing how users interact and respond helps fine-tune experiences and makes sure improvements actually land the way they should
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on a browser extension or mobile app with a large user base
- A passion for creating positive user experiences and contributing to products that make a difference
- Experience mentoring or supporting other team members' growth and development
- Actively participated in or organized initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion in tech
- An interest in contributing to open-source projects or communities
- A strong sense of curiosity and a desire for continuous learning and skill development
- Experience with WordPress and Gutenberg
