Summary

Kiln is seeking a Head of Compliance to lead its compliance department and navigate the complexities of blockchain technology and digital asset regulations. The successful candidate will develop and execute a compliance strategy, craft a comprehensive compliance program, collaborate with various departments, engage with regulatory bodies, develop policies, oversee AML efforts, and provide oversight of compliance processes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of compliance experience, including 3+ years of experience in a decision-making compliance function, e.g. Head of Compliance, MLRO or similar; alternatively, experienced compliance consultant (independent or compliance practice)
  • Deep understanding of blockchain technology, digital assets, and the regulatory environment surrounding them
  • Proven experience in compliance, risk management, or legal roles within the fintech, blockchain, or digital assets industries
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and lead a team, and influence cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts to a variety of stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on outcomes and the ability to navigate through ambiguity and change

Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing Kiln's compliance strategy to navigate the complexities of blockchain technology and digital asset regulations
  • Crafting and overseeing a comprehensive compliance program that meets regulatory requirements relevant to blockchain and digital assets
  • Working closely with various departments including, Legal, Product, and Finance to ensure a unified approach to compliance and risk management
  • Acting as Kiln's liaison with regulatory bodies, managing submissions, licenses, and responses to regulatory inquiries
  • Creating compliance policies and procedures to reflect the current regulatory environment and best practices
  • Enforcing these policies across the company and ensuring that all employees are educated on compliance matters
  • Overseeing the company's efforts to combat money laundering and financial crimes
  • Providing oversight of compliance processes and systems, ensuring they are effective and efficient
  • Regularly reporting on compliance metrics, risks, and the status of compliance initiatives to senior management and relevant stakeholders
