Head of Data Science

Summary

Join Copy.ai as the Head of Data Science and lead all aspects of data science, including statistical science, data analytics, data management, and business operations. You will be the subject matter expert, providing statistical expertise to inform decision-making. You will build and lead a team of data scientists and prompt engineers, partnering with product and engineering teams. This is a fully remote role requiring 9am-5pm availability in your timezone (Pacific to Eastern). Requirements

• 7+ Years of experience in data science or machine learning
• 3+ years of experience leading a data science or machine learning team owning a player-coach relationship
• M.S. or PhD in data science, machine learning, statistics, mathematics, or a similar field
• Experience with large data sets and analytical tools
• Experience building data science models (Regression, Decision Trees, K-Means, etc.)
• Demonstrated leadership and self-direction. Willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques
• Demonstrated skills in selecting the right statistical tools given a data analysis problem
• Proactive, organized problem-solver with the ability to execute at both the strategic and tactical level
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Based in the San Francisco Bay Area

Responsibilities

• Work with large, complex data sets
• Solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed
• Conduct analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations
• Lead and scale a high performing team of data scientists and prompt engineers
• Build and prototype analysis pipelines for the team to provide insights at scale
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of data structures and metrics, advocating for changes where needed for product development
• Partner closely with engineering and product teams to deliver on major cross-functional measurements, testing, and modeling efforts
