Summary
Join Supermetrics as their Head of Data Science, based in Helsinki, Dublin, or the UK. Lead the development and execution of a long-term data science strategy, aligning with the company's overall business goals. You will build and manage a high-performing team of data scientists and machine learning engineers, creating innovative AI/ML products and solutions. This role requires a product and customer-first mindset to deliver differentiating AI/ML products. Requirements
- MSc or PhD in STEM/AI related subject from a top tier university
- Experience bringing new data driven products to market within a SaaS application that solve real customer problems and deliver clear, measurable value for customers, and revenue for the business. This should span the full lifecycle, from ideation to release and subsequent iterations
- Hands-on experience with predictive modeling methods (e.g., logistic regression, multivariate linear regression, decision tree, cluster analysis)
- Hands on experience working with LLMs
- Hands-on experience and solid understanding of machine learning and deep learning methods and toolkits
- Hands-on experience working with ML Ops teams
- Domain knowledge of large scale, data driven SaaS applications, and a bonus if you have experience in MarTech
- Excellent leadership skills, business acumen, and ability to effectively manage, lead and supervise a data science team
- Experience in Agile development methodologies and how to embed Data Science into the delivery process
- Demonstrated experience in decision-making that has an organization-wide impact
- Strong leadership, mentoring, strategic planning, change management, collaboration, and negotiation skills
- Experience working, building and enabling distributed/remote teams
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a long-term data science strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals
- Lead the development and deployment of sophisticated AI/ML models, creating new products and value for our customers and new revenue for Supermetrics
- Foster strong partnerships with other departments, such as engineering, product, infrastructure, to ensure seamless integration of solutions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and deep learning techniques and champion learning activities within the company across all departments
- In partnership with our infrastructure team, oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust data pipelines and ML infrastructure
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI/ML to create innovative products and services, working closely with product management as well as GTM teams
- Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to build platforms and pipelines that support advanced analytics and AI/ML
- Build partnerships with staff, senior leadership, external service providers, vendors, and our customers; making Data Science a business enabler
- Be able to communicate status of strategic projects to: Board, Executive Team, and company on appropriate schedule
- Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers
- Foster a security-first culture of innovation, transparency and accountability
- In partnership with the Product Development leadership team, establish group/departmental goals; determine the resource needs to meet these goals; and assess performance
- Act as a mentor and coach for your team, supporting them in setting and achieving their own goals while fostering a safe, collaborative environment of learning and growth based on continuous feedback
