Summary

The Head of Design will manage a team of designers, oversee product and marketing design, contribute strategically to the company, and have at least 5 years of design experience with a strong background in both product (UX/UI) and marketing design. The role is part of a remote-first and globally distributed team of about 80 team members.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of design experience, with a strong background in both product (UX/UI) and marketing design
  • Proven experience in leading and growing design teams, with a track record of mentoring and developing talent
  • Expertise in UX/UI design with a deep understanding of user-centered design principles and practices
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of marketing design work, from web design to digital campaigns
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of designers across product and marketing disciplines
  • Foster a collaborative design culture that encourages creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Identify skill gaps within the team and drive professional development initiatives
  • Shape agile processes and best practices for top-notch design
  • Own the end-to-end design process for Hygraph, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience for our target audiences
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, and other stakeholders to define and implement UX/UI strategies
  • Be a lead in user research, testing, and iterative design processes to continuously improve product usability and aesthetics
  • Ensure that the design system is scalable, consistent, and aligns with the company’s product vision
  • Oversee the design of marketing assets, including website design, landing pages, email campaigns, social media content, and other marketing materials
  • Work closely with marketing and commercial teams to develop creative strategies that drive brand awareness and engagement
  • Be a trailblazer on design trends, tools, and technologies to keep the company at the forefront of design innovation
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align design goals with business strategy and goals
