Requirements

  • 3+ years of proven experience in managing multiple engineering teams through Engineering Managers and Tech Leads
  • Track record of improving delivery processes (Lean/Agile) based on metrics approach
  • Understanding of organisational scaling, cross-team coordination, and metrics-driven leadership
  • Experience setting up or improving secure SDLC processes
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build alignment, influence up/down/across
  • Experience defining and implementing delivery KPIs and using them to identify process bottlenecks and waste
  • Ability to balance speed and quality in a high-stakes product environment (financial systems, crypto, payments)
  • Good level of spoken and written English (at least B2) and Russian

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop Engineering Managers and Tech Leads, building a strong second line of leadership and identifying successors for your own role
  • Provide structured performance feedback and career guidance (PDPs), aligning individual growth with team and business goals
  • Promote a high-trust engineering culture focused on ownership and cross-functional collaboration
  • Champion company values and ensure high engagement and clarity of direction across the engineering teams
  • Review existing and propose improvements in delivery processes that optimise time to market, minimise waste and improve flow efficiency (lead time, plan-fact, defect rate)
  • Drive data-informed decision-making by implementing and using delivery metrics (velocity, WIP, incidents rate, stakeholder feedback)
  • Ensure consistent execution of cross-team projects, manage delivery risk and enable effective escalation paths
  • Follow and contribute to improve our operational rituals: quarterly planning, OKRs, retrospective feedback loops and delivery health reviews
  • Own organisational design of the department: team structures, headcount planning, growth forecasting
  • Make decisions on hiring priorities, team composition, and when to split, merge, or sunset teams
  • Manage capacity allocation and drive resource flexibility in a highly paced environment
  • Lead the adoption of engineering standards, reliability targets, and quality metrics in collaboration with Tech Leads
  • Ensure best practices in incident response, cost management and DevOps tooling are followed consistently across teams
  • Promote knowledge sharing via tech sessions and hackathons to reduce silos and enable innovation
  • Translate technical strategy into engineering execution plans, working closely with Product, Compliance, and Finance
  • Provide regular visibility into delivery status, risks, and goals to stakeholders
  • Participate in company-wide planning, contributing engineering perspective to product strategy and long-term roadmap

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in development
  • Experience mentoring Engineering Managers
  • Experience in fintech or highly regulated environments
  • Budgeting experience
  • Hands-on experience creating dashboards or tracking frameworks for engineering org health
  • Previous experience in crypto, payments, or financial automation platforms
  • Understanding of security and platform reliability in crypto/fintech domains
