Head of Engineering

Summary

Join a fast-growing SaaS company in the real estate and energy sector as their Head of Engineering. You will build and develop a high-performing engineering team, define processes and standards, and lead with a focus on self-organization and technical excellence. Collaborate with the CTO and product teams to shape a scalable roadmap and help shape the broader organization, including roles and agile team formats. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of leadership experience in dynamic tech environments, strong technical expertise, and a proven track record in scaling engineering teams. Fluency in English is required; German is a plus. This fully remote role (within Germany) offers the opportunity to make a real societal impact and shape a fast-scaling company.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of leadership experience in dynamic tech environments (SaaS, cloud, continuous delivery, DDD)
• Strong technical expertise combined with strategic thinking
• Proven track record in scaling engineering teams and developing modern technical organizations
• A clear, people-centric leadership style focused on ownership and collaboration
• Fluency in English (our engineering team works in English); German is a plus

• Build and develop a high-performing, diverse, and motivated engineering team
• Define clear responsibilities, processes, and engineering standards
• Lead with a focus on self-organization, delivery capability, and technical excellence
• Collaborate closely with the CTO and product teams to shape a scalable and future-proof roadmap
• Help shape the broader organization – including roles, leadership structures, and agile team formats
• Work closely with the CTO and leadership team to define principles and structures for a scalable tech organization – with strategic influence and room to shape leadership models
