Head of Engineering

Summary

Search Atlas Group is looking for a Head of Engineering to provide technical leadership for their engineering team, define software architecture, oversee the full software development lifecycle, build and mentor a high-performing team, foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaborate cross-functionally with other teams, identify issues, lead daily SCRUM meetings, and have SEO experience as a plus. The role is remote and open to any county.

Requirements

• Proven track record of leading and scaling engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Extensive experience in software architecture, design patterns, and best practices
• Strong technical skills and hands-on experience with modern software development tools and methodologies
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and people management skills
• Python, Django, React, other software development experience that aligns with our tech stack

Responsibilities

• Providing technical leadership for the engineering team
• Defining the software architecture to support the company's business objectives
• Overseeing the full software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, and deployment
• Building, managing, and mentoring a high-performing team of developers
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the engineering organization
• Collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, operations, and other teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions
• Identifying issues + working with the QA/Product team to help ensure the software is as bug-free as possible
• Leading daily SCRUM meetings and making sure all goals are aligned

Preferred Qualifications

• SEO experience is a huge plus!
• Ability to record Loom videos demonstrating product issues / usability problems, along with presenting solutions
• Ability to keep up with a fast moving team that’s constantly building new products and features
