Requirements
- Proven experience in design leadership, with a strong portfolio showcasing impactful user experiences
- Strong understanding of design operations, including resource management, project prioritization, and process optimization
- Ability to align design efforts with business goals and effectively advocate for design within a cross-functional environment
- Exceptional mentorship and leadership skills, with a passion for developing design talent
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, product, and engineering teams
Responsibilities
- Driving the Category Design Vision: Leading and defining the design vision for your specific category, ensuring alignment with the broader company vision. Translating strategic objectives into actionable plans and deliverables for your design team
- Design Advocacy: Act as a champion for design within Jobs and Car Parts business units, advocating for the value of design in driving business outcomes. Ensure design gets the necessary resources, attention, and support from other functions and leadership
- Business Unit Alignment: Align the design teamβs efforts with the strategic priorities of your business unit or category. Tailor design strategy and processes to meet the unique needs of your unit while maintaining consistency with company-wide objectives
- Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day design operations with your design managers, including resource allocation, project prioritization, and process improvements. Ensure effective collaboration with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, etc.) to meet business goals and timelines
- Design Quality: Ensure that design output maintains the highest standards of quality, focusing on delivering exceptional user experiences. Continuously improve design processes and deliverables to ensure they meet the evolving needs of your business unit
- Mentorship and Development: Mentor and develop design managers, lead designers and other team members to foster leadership growth and a strong design culture. Support the career development of your team, providing guidance and feedback to help them achieve their professional goals
