Requirements

  • 10+ years in construction, civil engineering, marine, or defence sectors, covering all project stages
  • Strong grasp of CDM Regulations and related laws
  • NEBOSH, HNC/HND, or Degree
  • Inspire and foster a top-tier safety culture
  • Engage with all levels and chair H&S meetings effectively
  • Manage multiple priorities and drive innovative H&S improvements
  • Deliver measurable, forward-thinking safety solutions

Responsibilities

  • Ensure adherence to CDM 2015 and other health & safety regulations
  • Act as a key advisor to senior leadership and project teams
  • Uphold statutory and organizational H&S policies
  • Create, review, and update H&S policies
  • Promote continuous improvement and best practices
  • Align policies with project-specific needs
  • Review contractor and designer risk assessments/method statements
  • Identify hazards and implement robust risk controls
  • Collaborate with Principal Contractors/Designers throughout project phases
  • Develop and deliver tailored safety training
  • Drive a positive safety culture via workshops and engagement
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits
  • Address non-conformances and ensure timely resolution
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses
  • Prepare reports and share lessons learned
  • Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and regulators
  • Build strong relationships with Facility Operators and stakeholders
  • Provide expert advice across all project stages: preconstruction to handover
  • Oversee Principal Contractor compliance with regulations
  • Capture and share lessons learned to drive continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Nuclear or highly regulated environments
  • Background working within MoD estates
  • Familiarity with environmental aspects of HSQE
  • IOSH/IIRSM membership
