Summary

Join Blue Water Thinking as a Health Services Subject Matter Expert supporting a large Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) program. Leverage your 20+ years of VHA healthcare and medical center operations expertise to integrate new work products, provide expert guidance, and act as a liaison between the project team and VA stakeholders. Monitor healthcare delivery, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with VA departments to ensure efficient service delivery. A minimum of 10 years' experience as a healthcare IT consultant with Oracle Millennium or similar EHR system experience is required, along with a BA/BS degree and understanding of VHA's VERA and Managerial Cost Accounting. Data management experience in large enterprise environments is also crucial. The position offers a competitive salary ($160,000-$190,000) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • At least 10 yearsโ€™ experience as a healthcare IT consultant and experience in Oracle Millennium or another electronic health records system
  • BA/BS degree
  • Understanding VHAโ€™s Veterans Equitable Resource Allocation (VERA) and Managerial Cost Accounting processes are critical to the position
  • At least 10 yearsโ€™ experience in data management in large enterprise-level environments that include multiple, complex technologies involving large amounts of data
  • The experience should include conducting comparative, trend, and predictive analysis of data and advanced ability to prepare comprehensive reports
  • Must be available to attend meetings at 810 Vermont Ave NW, Washington, D.C. 20240 without incurring travel expense to the Government

Responsibilities

  • Leverage extensive knowledge of health care delivery to integrate new work products with existing operations
  • Provide expert guidance on all aspects of medical center operations
  • Act as a liaison between the project team and VA stakeholders, ensuring alignment with VA healthcare policies and procedures
  • Monitor and assess healthcare delivery to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with various VA departments to ensure the comprehensive and efficient delivery of healthcare services to Veterans

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Health Administration, Public Health, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in VA healthcare policy development and implementation
  • Previous experience working with the department of Veterans Affairs or military health systems
  • Experience managing projects that involve integration of medical, behavioral, and social health systems
