Housekeeper

Summary

Join Dexterra Group as a remote Housekeeper in a remote camp site, working a 14 days on, 7 days off rotational schedule. Reporting to the Lodge Manager, you will maintain the cleanliness of facilities. Responsibilities include conducting room cleanings, providing full housekeeping services, making beds, changing linens, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing bathrooms, emptying garbage, washing linens, and managing linen inventory. The position requires reliable transportation to the facility, ideally with prior janitorial or housekeeping experience and knowledge of cleaning procedures. Fluency in English and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are also essential. The company offers an excellent work-life balance with the rotational schedule.

Requirements

• Must be from the surrounding communities in Manitoba...Cross Lake, Norway House, Wabowden, Thompson, and other communities in the general area
• Must have a reliable ride to the facility, whether you can drive yourself or be driven. Closest community is a 1hr drive minimum one way
• You have knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
• You are fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• You have the ability and desire to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team player
• You are able to stand for a long period of time and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Conducting walk-downs - cleaning rooms that may vary depending on client occupancy
• Full housekeeping services in guest rooms and hallways
• Making the beds and changing linen weekly; or as needed
• Vacuuming and dusting all room furniture blinds including hallways
• Washing, scrubbing and sanitizing bathroom, windows and mirrors
• Emptying garbage from all sleeping areas including trash and recycling collection
• Washing and folding towels, linens and beddings
• Loading and unloading laundry and linen truck as well as supplies
• Maintaining an accurate record of all bedding allotted in lodge, assist with the inventory, and report any shortages to the Lodge Manager

Preferred Qualifications

• Ideally, you have some janitorial and/or housekeeping experience
• Ideally, you have related experience in remote lodge setting or hotel/institutional environment; commercial cleaning is considered an asset
