Summary

Observable is hiring a full-time infrastructure and site reliability engineer to help improve, administrate, and grow Observable systems as they scale. The engineer will perform site reliability and ops work for Observable production and staging environments, design and implement new infrastructure and processes, and participate in oncall rotation. They use technologies such as AWS, Cloudflare, Heroku, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Airbyte, Datadog, Sentry, Docker, Node, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

Requirements

3+ years of related experience working with production systems, security best practices, etc

Responsibilities

Perform site reliability and ops work for Observable production and staging environments (Manage servers! Tweak WAF rules! Optimize SQL queries! And more!) Design and implement new infrastructure and processes to support growing cloud services Participate in oncall rotation, monitoring Observable systems and responding to production issues
