Infrastructure Engineer

Summary

The job is for an Infrastructure Engineer at Venafi, a company specializing in Machine Identity Management. The role involves leading security projects, making architectural decisions, mentoring team members, and managing data center operations. The ideal candidate should have proficiency in Linux, networking skills, DevOps tools (preferably Ansible), and at least 6-8 years of relevant experience or a degree in CS/CSE with commensurate experience.

Requirements

• Able to stay updated with the latest technology trends and apply them purposefully
• Versatile and excited by a wide variety of technical challenges
• Innovative thinker who thrives on solving diverse and complex problems
• Deep expertise in Linux and at least basic Windows server skills
• Strong networking skills, including TCP/IP, routing, switch, and firewall configuration
• Proficiency with DevOps configuration management tools, with a preference for Ansible (experience with similar tools is also acceptable)
• 6-8 years of relevant experience or a degree in CS/CSE with commensurate experience

Responsibilities

• Lead projects to enhance our security posture
• Make deep architectural decisions
• Mentor team members on security best practices
• Contribute significantly to our security-first initiative
• Manage our data center operations, serving infrastructure for a development team of 150 people

Preferred Qualifications

• Security background
• Familiarity with: - Atlassian Jira & Confluence (usage and administration) - Nutanix - VMware vSphere
