Summary

Join PrismHR as a Principal Application and Infrastructure Engineer to ensure the availability and optimal performance of hosting services and infrastructure. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based solutions, mentoring team members, and more in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in a technical discipline
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or running containers on PaaS
  • Experience with automation and IaC tools such as Puppet and Terraform
  • Experience working in a GitOps/DevOps environment
  • Experience troubleshooting application configurations and diagnosing operational issues
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of public cloud concepts and services in AWS and Azure
  • Scripting experience (Powershell, Bash, Python) a plus
  • Experience supporting security/compliance programs such as SOC1, SOC2, or PCI
  • Excellent problem solving and effective research skills
  • Strong customer service skills and communication as must
  • Experience with Palo Alto NGFWโ€™s and F5 Load Balancers a plus
  • Dedication and willingness to work alternative schedules when necessary
  • Industry certifications are strongly desired: Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE), Windows (MCSA / MCSE), or Azure/AWS certifications
  • No direct reports, but must be able to function as a team lead to coordinate activities on major projects

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement cloud-based solutions for PrismHRโ€™s SaaS platform
  • Manage and maintain applications and cloud infrastructure in both AWS and Azure
  • Automate provisioning with tools such as Puppet and Terraform
  • Provide support to the Engineering teams to facilitate development and testing activities
  • Ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve full application stack problems, end-to-end, including network connectivity, traffic utilization, authentication, SSL, and application debugging
  • Standard system administration duties including server install, system/application install, patch management, log analysis, and customer account setup
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and public cloud components, and application configurations
  • Continue to evolve the use of automation, IaC, and configuration management
  • Participate in the creation, maintenance, testing, and execution of the Disaster Recovery plan
  • Assist in capacity planning activities, to include creating and presenting technical specifications and requirements for purchasing of new servers and networking equipment
  • Participate in after-hours upgrades, maintenance troubleshooting, and on-call availability as needed
  • Function as a project lead to ensure major projects are kept on track and key deliverables met
  • Function as a team lead and be able to mentor and train junior personnel
