Intermediate Data Engineer

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience working as a Data Engineer
• Proficiency in using either Python, Java or Scala for data processing (Python preferred)
• Advanced understanding of SQL and analytical data warehouses
• Strong data modelling skills
• Hands-on experience building, troubleshooting, optimising and monitoring data pipelines
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Fivetran, Airflow, DBT
• Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure and GCP
• Good English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data to analytics platforms
• Work with various data sources, ensuring efficient and reliable data flow to support business needs
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and system owners to understand data requirements and ensure timely access to accurate and well-structured data
• Design data models that support analytical use cases and business insights
• Build and manage data warehouses, optimizing performance, stability, cost, and reliability
• Ensure data quality and consistency—this includes implementing validation, cleaning processes, monitoring systems, and notifying source system owners when necessary
• Apply and promote best practices for code maintainability and performance
• Keep documentation up to date and share technical knowledge across teams

Preferred Qualifications

• DevOps practices and tools for the deployment and management of data infrastructure, like Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Github Actions, Docker
• AWS Cloud Certificate
• Independent & proactive remote working experience
