Summary

Join JumpCloud's Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team as a Senior Data Engineer and play a crucial role in driving core reporting. Develop data pipelines, curate and model data, and design databases to enable insights and self-service. Collaborate with analytics and technical teams, and business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about data, balance multiple projects, ask insightful questions, and coordinate execution across stakeholders. A proactive and hands-on approach is essential. This is a remote position.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in SQL and relational databases; Snowflake experience highly preferred
  • Advanced knowledge in database design, data modeling, data infrastructure, data pipelines, and ELT process to support analytics and business operations. DBT, Airflow, Fivetran, AWS, and GitHub experiences are highly preferred
  • Advanced understanding of coding and markup languages and can create complex queries from multiple data sources, views, and tables and have an understanding of our company's data architecture and how to apply it
  • Advanced understanding and experience with scripting languages such as Python (numpy, pandas)
  • Intermediate analytical skills and a passion for data storytelling and quantitative analysis
  • Understanding in one or more business Intelligence / data visualization tools; Tableau experience highly preferred
  • Strong mentoring skills
  • Strong attention to detail and desire to learn
  • Effective stakeholder management skills and communication skills
  • Effective project management and organizational skills; Agile experience is a plus
  • Experience with Data Governance best practices
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, unstructured, dynamic environment
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field

Responsibilities

  • Driving large, impactful projects involving data pipelines, database design, data modeling, and data curation for optimized analytics and business use with involvement across various stakeholders, business units, and technical partners
  • Owning the outcomes of the analytics initiatives you’re leading. You’re not just a participant in the initiative, you hold yourself responsible for the outcome of the project
  • Gathering requirements and providing actionable recommendations to technical stakeholders, driving adoption and execution of recommendations
  • Mentoring and growing the other analysts and engineers across the organization. We’ve got a great organization full of a lot of potential, you’ll be helping the other members of the organization achieve their potential
  • Supporting team's project management, strategic decision-making, and long-term planning
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, database design, data modeling, and data governance and applying them to support our business needs
