Summary

Join Traject Data as a Software Engineer and help shape the foundation of our web applications and services. You will build clean, intuitive user experiences and design scalable backend APIs, collaborating with Product, Design, and fellow Engineers. As a well-rounded engineer comfortable working across the frontend and backend, you will contribute to feature planning, system architecture, and implementation. Success involves being a team-oriented engineer who writes clean, maintainable code, contributes to planning and design, and takes ownership of delivering high-quality systems. You will also support teammates and foster a growth mindset. The role offers a remote work environment and is open to candidates in Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia.

Requirements

  • Solid experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks like React
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
  • Working knowledge of Node.js, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and server-side logic
  • Familiarity with modern CSS methodologies and styling approaches (CSS-in-JS, PostCSS, Sass, etc.)
  • Comfort working in a full-stack environment, even if you lean slightly frontend or backend
  • Experience working with Git and CI/CD tools
  • A continuous learning mindset and openness to exploring new technologies

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain features across the stack, from React-based UIs to backend services and APIs
  • Design and implement well-structured, tested, and reusable code in both frontend and backend contexts
  • Collaborate with Product and Design to scope, plan, and deliver user-centric features
  • Improve reliability and performance across our platform, from UI responsiveness to backend scalability
  • Work with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP) and modern deployment pipelines
  • Stay current with best practices and propose improvements to tools, systems, and processes

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP), containerization, or frontend performance optimization
