Summary

Join Wellhub, a corporate wellness platform, as their Internal Controls Manager in Brazil. You will oversee and enhance the internal control framework, ensuring efficient operations. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, performing control tests, collaborating with process owners and IT, and supporting SOX compliance. The ideal candidate possesses deep internal controls and risk management expertise and a proven track record of implementing effective compliance strategies. This is an individual contributor role, not involving team management, focusing on critical initiatives and collaboration with senior stakeholders. You will develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive internal control framework, assess and document existing controls, and conduct internal audits. The role also includes providing training and guidance to staff and preparing reports for senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal controls, auditing, or compliance, preferably in a public company environment
  • Strong familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and internal control frameworks and regulations (e.g., COSO, COBIT, SOX)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various functions
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and hands-on with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive internal control framework aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Assess and document existing internal controls and processes, identifying improvement and risk mitigation areas
  • Collaborate to establish, monitor, and enhance ITGC, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the company's information systems
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop control strategies to address potential vulnerabilities related to financial reporting and operations
  • Lead internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls; work with cross-functional teams to implement recommended improvements
  • Perform Test of Design and Effectiveness to ensure thorough evaluations of controls, identifying potential gaps and recommending necessary enhancements
  • Provide training and guidance to staff regarding internal controls, compliance, and best practices
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and the board of directors on the status of internal controls and compliance efforts
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR, ISO 27001)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience inย  Internal Audit and a BIG 4 background is a plus
  • Experience with IT environment and controls is a plus
