Requirements

  • Degree in Business or Financial Accounting, CPA, CA, or country equivalent designation (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in the tax accounting profession, some portion in global indirect tax

Responsibilities

  • Work with our tax engine (Vertex), quoting and billing tool (Salesforce.com), and GL system (Dynamics 365) to confirm appropriate VAT/GST tax treatment of foreign entity invoices
  • Gather, analyze, and summarize information on a monthly and quarterly basis for VAT/GST return preparation
  • Review returns once prepared by consultants
  • Update and maintain tax codes for new and existing products
  • Oversee VAT/GST tax payment process for global entities
  • Manage all VAT/GST related balance sheet accounts on our GL including prepare all month-end close procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Oversee all governmental and company related VAT/GST audits that arise
  • Maintain the foreign indirect tax calendar/task matrix for all foreign compliance duties and deadlines
  • Assist with indirect tax registrations in relevant tax jurisdictions
  • Proactively monitor and operate a robust internal control tax environment in compliance with SOX requirements
  • Assist with tax logic, create test scenarios, and work with the team related to system upgrades and new feature implementation
  • Respond to questions and issues from business units and functional groups
  • Develop and Maintain working relationships outside the finance organization
