Join Trupanion as a dynamic and customer-focused DevOps Manager to lead our DevOps team in managing and enhancing our Microsoft Azure-based infrastructure.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a DevOps or infrastructure engineering role, with solid experience in a leadership capacity
- Experience working in a regulated industry, such as healthcare or financial services
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server, Entra ID, and Azure services (VMs, App Services, Azure SQL, AKS, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates
- Deep understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like Azure DevOps Pipelines, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
- Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture
- Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation and orchestration tasks
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of highly-skilled DevOps engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on continuous improvement and innovation
- Utilise Terraform to design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure
- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our Azure-based systems and services
- Manage Azure subscriptions, resources, and access controls to optimise cost efficiency and compliance
- Establish and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications and infrastructure changes
- Implement best practices for version control, build automation, and release management using Azure DevOps Services to meet regulatory compliance needs
- Partner with the Infrastructure team to refine and implement monitoring solutions to proactively detect and respond to infrastructure and application issues
- Lead incident response efforts, including root cause analysis, mitigation strategies, and post-incident reviews
- Collaborate with the InfoSec team to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as SoX, NYDFS and GDPR
- Implement security standard processes and controls to protect sensitive data and infrastructure assets
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures
- Promote knowledge sharing and cross-training within the DevOps team and with other groups
