IT/AI Development Intern

Summary

Join our team as an IT/AI Development Intern and gain invaluable hands-on experience in full-stack development, AI integration, and e-commerce applications. This 16-week, 20-hours/week remote internship offers flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments. You'll contribute to real-world projects, including AI-powered tools and mobile/web applications. Collaborate closely with senior engineers, learning modern tech stacks and agile workflows. High-performing interns may be offered a paid internship or junior position. The program enhances professional skills and includes a company-sponsored Harvard CS50 AI course.

Requirements

• Have a stable internet connection and personal equipment
• Commit to a 20 hours/week schedule (flexible to accommodate academic commitments)
• Complete a 16-week internship
• Submit Resume + Cover Letter specifying your area of interest
• Complete the Culture Index Survey
• Complete a Skills Assessment
• Attend interviews with HR
• Contribute at least one major project in your assigned department
• Submit an Internship Completion Report summarizing your learning and contributions

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and enhancing e-commerce platforms using Shopify Liquid, Petite Vue, TailwindCSS, and Vite
• Support integration of AI-powered features using APIs and prompt engineering
• Contribute to REST API development and third-party API integrations
• Help with database tasks including CRUD operations, indexing, and authentication in PostgreSQL/Supabase
• Participate in creating data dashboards and analytics tools
• Test and debug features using automated testing tools
• Follow secure coding practices and version control workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with JavaScript (ES6+) and a modern UI framework (Vue 3/Nuxt 3 or React/Next.js)
• Experience with Node.js with Fastify or Express
• Experience with Shopify Liquid theme development
• Experience with React Native (Expo) for mobile development
• Experience with REST API design and integration
• Experience with PostgreSQL/Supabase (CRUD, indexing, auth)
• Experience with JSON/CSV data parsing
• Experience with GA4 or Shopify data exports
• Experience with prompt engineering and AI API integration
• Experience with PDF parsing/generation
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts
• Experience with Embedding strategies and vector databases (pgvector)
• Experience with Redis (caching, sessions)
• Experience with Vercel Edge Functions / Supabase Edge Functions
• Experience with Docker for local development
• Experience with CI/CD workflows with automated testing
• Experience with Playwright, Vitest, or Jest for testing
• Experience with Map rendering (Leaflet, Mapbox)
• Experience with Cron jobs and data diffing
• Experience with environment secrets management and input sanitization
• Experience with feature flagging tools
