Summary
Join Health Gorilla as a Software Engineer II and contribute to building a world-class Clinical Network. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will participate in all phases of Java development, collaborating with various teams. You will leverage your Java Web Application Development and Database expertise to scope, implement, and support new products and features. The role requires strong Java, RESTful API, and database skills, along with experience in agile environments. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Core Java, Enterprise Application Development, RESTful API building, back-end Web development, large-scale, asynchronous applications development
- Experience collaborating in agile teams, SCRUM/KANBAN
- Database background; MongoDB is a must
- Experience working with dockerized services and Linux-based platforms
- Familiarity with Health IT protocols and standards: FHIR, IHE TF, HL7, CCDA
- Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of Java development
- Learn existing codebase and continue its development
- Read and write extensive documentation
- Assess technical risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Solve complex technical problems and manage technical debt
- Conduct technical research and propose improvements
- Learn and apply new coding standards; potentially introduce new standards
- Navigate complex documentation and address any gaps
- Take ownership of proposed solutions and your work
- Facilitate design, implementation, and delivery across multiple solutions on the Health Gorilla Clinical Network
- Document all work with updated specifications
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS experience
- JMS experience
- Elasticsearch experience
- Redis experience
- ActiveMQ experience
- MongoDB Atlas experience
- Understanding of security and experience with PKI, Mutual TLS, SOAP WSS, SAML, OAuth, and other secure communication methodologies
- Cloud hosting experience: infrastructure as code, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, and Python/Bash scripting
- Experience with building high-throughput transaction services
- Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
