Requirements

• US Citizenship required
• Security Clearance: active Top Secret / SCI security clearance with a willingness to take a CI Polygraph required
• Education: Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience in software engineering or software development with Java

Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of Java and object-oriented programming principles
• Basic knowledge of database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling
• Review, package, and update software to screen satellite orbits for hazards
• Interface with multiple teammates to develop applications to provide data to a scalable cloud service platform
• Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Learn space operations and how the code supports satellite constellations and operations
• Support and plan Agile sprints to break software development tasks into logical and efficient software packages supporting a wide variety of satellite safety tasks
• Work with advanced analysts and system tier support to create procedures in support of ongoing operations
• Prepare and give briefings to mid and senior-level management on program increments supporting satellite and space-related activities
• Evaluate incoming scientific data for reasonableness
• Be adaptable to changing priorities in an operations environment
