Jr Network Engineer

Summary

INflow Federal is seeking a Network Engineer with 4+ years' experience to work on high-impact projects for the Department of Defense. The role requires knowledge of Ethernet and IP data engineering, OSI Model, network protocols, wireless technologies, and specific certifications. The employee will handle outage and maintenance tickets, troubleshoot network issues, install and upgrade network devices, and follow policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with 4 plus years’ experience as a Network Technician
• Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages
• Fundamental understanding of the OSI Model is required
• Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment
• Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP is a Plus
• Knowledge and experience working with wireless technologies, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and WAN Accelerators and associated technologies is highly desirable
• DoD Secret clearance
• Must possess an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) network support certification and an Operating System (OS)/Application Certification (i.e. Microsoft/Cisco). Microsoft or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Handles outage and maintenance tickets servicing more than 20000 users through onsite and remote troubleshooting assistance for layer 1 – 3 issues, hardware installations of new and upgraded routers, switches, COMSEC/TACLANES, McAfee intrusion prevention systems, Aruba wireless controllers, Riverbed Steelhead WANX’s, device configurations and reconfigurations, and LAN/WAN outage recovery
• Troubleshooting outages and resolve network related issues
