Summary
Join our legal team as a Junior Associate General Counsel in Jacksonville, FL (or hybrid/remote in the Southeast)! You will provide crucial legal support, handling contracts, litigation, compliance, and risk mitigation. This role involves drafting and negotiating contracts, advising internal departments, and developing contract management policies. You will also conduct legal research, collaborate with external counsel, and assist senior staff. The ideal candidate possesses strong legal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. state
- 2-4 years of experience in a large law firm or in-house department
- Strong contract drafting and negotiations skills
- Ability to manage litigation (review pleadings, and strategy)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts and agreements
- Provide legal advice and support to internal departments
- Assist in developing and implementing contract management policies and procedures
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations that may impact the company's contractual obligations
- Manage and collaborate with external legal counsel
- Support senior legal staff with special projects and other legal matters as required
- Regular attendance at remote meetings
- Preparation of Board reports and minutes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and knowledge of U.S. Securities laws and forms; ability to understand and deal with various regulatory environments (SEC, FINRA, FCA, MSA, etc.) and applicable investment laws and regulations required (FCPA, KYC, KYB, AMC, etc.)
