Junior Backend Developer

Summary

Join our team of skilled Backend Developers working with high-end US clients! We utilize React, React Native, Node.js, TypeScript, and Python, tackling diverse challenges in early-stage startups. We offer a competitive salary (PLN 6,000-10,000 + VAT B2B; PLN 5,000-7,500 brutto UZL), paid time off, and a generous training budget. Collaborate with clients across various industries, including FinTech, SportsTech, and MedTech. This is a full-time, long-term contract position.

Requirements

• Have 1 year of commercial experience with Node.js
• Understand basic JS concepts (ES 2018+), use Classes, and follow recent additions/functionalities
• Have basic experience with at least one Node.js backend framework (e.g. Express.js, NestJS, Fastify, etc.) - know basic APIs/features, worked on at least 1 project involving such technologies
• Understand OOP, basic good practices and data structures, and strive for SOLID and DRY code with the use of design patterns
• Have experience working with SQL database (integration wise) with ORM or query builder tool (ie. Prisma, Knex)
• Have English level B2 to cooperate with American clients
• Have Polish level C1 to communicate easily within the team
• Be knowledge-hungry and have a positive attitude
• Possess effective communication skills - crucial for seeking feedback and understanding others' perspectives
• Be open-minded to new ideas, perspectives, and feedback from experienced colleagues
• Be open to change and adapt to different situations
• Be aware of your strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvements
• Be enthusiastic for learning and taking on challenges
• Actively seek solutions and try to figure things out on your own, but not be afraid to ask for help when needed

Responsibilities

• Write personal-best possible JS code with OOP flavour
• Be technically involved in the product - find ways to improve it
• Write documentation for delivered code
• Participate in peer code review
• Reuse and improve the company knowledge base
• Communicate with the team to efficiently translate business complexity (user stories/tasks) into solutions (end results/estimations)
• Continuously learn and improve skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Have open-source contributions
• Have experience in TypeScript and various BE frameworks
• Understand Agile/Scrum and want to work as a team towards one goal
• Understand the significance of MVP and aim to deliver top-notch results, even amid tight project timelines
• Know what AWS is and understand why it is used
• Have serverless experience
• Know how to run Docker images and how to use them
