Junior Backend Engineer

Summary

Join 1047 Games, a remote company creating a new shooter in the Splitgate universe. We're looking for a passionate engineer who loves tackling challenging technical problems, enjoys putting in extra effort, and is a passionate gamer who understands the gamer mindset. You will work closely with other engineers, build and deploy backend services to Kubernetes, receive mentorship, and have opportunities to work on various aspects of our technology stack. Requirements

• Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience
• 0-2 years of professional software development experience
• Working knowledge of a common programming language (C#, Go, Java, or similar)
• Familiarity with common data structures
• Understanding of API design principles
• Experience with Git for version control
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the other engineers across backend, infrastructure, and data to implement support for new and improved game features
• Build backend services, deploy them to Kubernetes, take them to production, and monitor the results
• Receive mentorship from senior members of the team and grow your skillset based on your preferences
• Have plenty of opportunity to work on any aspect of our technology stack, infrastructure, or backend services if you'd like!
