Junior Buyer

Summary

Join DWC as a Junior Buyer and contribute to our growth by managing inventory, optimizing procurement, and collaborating with suppliers. You will be responsible for managing inventory levels, forecasting needs, monitoring supplier performance, and generating reports. This role requires strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills, along with experience in purchasing or a related field. Experience with ERP or Warehouse Management Systems is essential. Requirements

• 1 - 3 years in purchasing, operations, or a related field preferred
• Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn new software
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and effective at managing supplier relationships
• Occasional domestic and international travel (up to 20%)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 pounds, occasional bending and reaching
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels for core items and issue purchase orders using procurement systems
• Forecast inventory needs based on market conditions and sales trends
• Monitor supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks
• Generate reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Collaborate with Inventory Control and Operations to prevent overbuying, reduce waste, and support cycle counts
• Manage consignment inventory and coordinate internal inventory transfers
• Purchase operational supplies and foster strong vendor relationships
• Support annual physical inventory counts and continuous improvement efforts

Preferred Qualifications

• APICS certification preferred
• Experience with an ERP or Warehouse Management System required, Acumatica or NETSTOCK is highly preferred
