Junior Programming Lecturer

Summary

HyperionDev is a leading tech education provider that offers accelerated courses and bootcamps. They are looking for a Programming Lecturer who can help students learn coding, provide code review, and work with leading coding education providers from around the world. The role requires strong technical knowledge, teaching experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for coding education.

Requirements

• Completed a HyperionDev bootcamp/Cyber Security certification or related, or has at least 6 months to a year coding experience
• 6 months of teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A problem-solving and positive attitude
• Functions well independently
• Fast learner, meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to craft, collate and maintain student data for informing pedagogical processes
• Start-up mentality and the desire to see the team succeed
• An interest in education, particularly coding and tech education
• Demonstrable knowledge of the following tech stacks: Cybersecurity, Python, Git, Bash, Linux, Network management, Ethical Hacking and penetration testing, Application security management, Log analysis
• Ability to start work from 2 pm to 11 pm SAST (UTC+2) to accommodate our part-time and international students
• Holding a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, CompTIA A+/N+. or equivalent and ISC2 CC. or equivalent (preferred)
• 2+ years of teaching experience in Cybersecurity (preferred)
• Experience designing and developing interactive learning experiences (preferred)
• Active involvement in local and international tech communities (preferred)
• Experience providing guidance on academic interventions to improve student progression (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Support learners by guiding them on course content and coding projects, holding group lectures, and helping solve student queries
• Deliver HyperionDev course content in the form of lectures and workshops as per a structured learning path
