Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax, preferably in a public accounting or professional services environment
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations

  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities
  • Conduct research on complex tax issues and prepare comprehensive memoranda
  • Assist in tax planning and structuring for various transactions, collaborating virtually and in-person with team members and clients
  • Help prepare tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements
  • Analyze and interpret tax laws, regulations, and rulings
  • Assist in representing clients in tax examinations and disputes with tax authorities, through both virtual and in-person meetings
  • Contribute to the preparation of client presentations and proposals
  • Stay current with changes in tax legislation and regulations
  • Participate in client meetings and conference calls, both virtually and in-person as needed
  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships through various communication channels

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA
  • Experience with corporate tax, partnership tax, and individual tax issues
  • Familiarity with tax research tools and databases
  • Knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Experience in specific industries (e.g., financial services, technology, real estate)
  • Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools and remote work technologies
