Summary

The job involves proofreading, QA, translation, and collaboration for a digital client as a Korean Language Expert in a freelance, remote role. The position requires fluency in English, solid experience in localization, and previous experience as a Korean Language Lead or Manager.

Requirements

  • Korean Native Speaker
  • Fluency in English is a must
  • Solid experience in the localization industry
  • Previous experience as a Korean Language Lead or Language Manager
  • Experience with LQAs, glossary and style guide management
  • Excellent computer and web skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Proofreading phase of all the client's major projects & first touch experiences (home page, marketing emails, etc)
  • QA'ing the client site and native apps
  • Identifying functionality and localization issues, and reporting and triaging bugs in cooperation with engineering teams and product managers
  • Help with urgent translations when requests cannot wait for the standard Translated SLA
  • Collaborate with content marketing/product marketing to ensure that chosen voice/tone flows through into all languages, across all surface areas
  • Improve and maintain their language glossary and style guides
  • Maintaining a close collaboration with Translated language leads & constantly providing feedback on how translations can be improved
  • Collaborating with local teams to ensure stakeholders receive localization support for local initiatives (sales collateral, marketing events, etc)
  • Using market expertise to provide feedback and support to other cross-functional teams to support the growth and success of the client in the different languages/markets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred knowledge of CAT tools
  • Preferred working experience or University studies in management or translation

Benefits

  • This is an external contracting position (freelance)
  • 30 to 40 hrs per week position
  • Remote position (covering the APAC timezone)
