Summary

Join Continental as an L3 Network Engineer and manage and maintain the network infrastructure for the central datacenter core networks. Oversee core switches, Cisco ACI environments, firewalls, load balancers, and access switches. Lead the design, development, and implementation of core network architectures for location-specific datacenters. Provide expert consulting support to tiered locations on network design and implementation. Continuously monitor and optimize network access services. Work with internal and external stakeholders. Drive escalation and problem management processes. This role requires a strong understanding of networking protocols and experience managing enterprise-level network infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network architecture or a related role, with a focus on Datacenter Networks
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, (security-) concepts, technologies, and tools, i.e. TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers, Cisco DNA Center, Cisco FMC, Cisco ACI
  • Proven experience in managing enterprise-level network infrastructure
  • Understanding of ITIL practices and the service lifecycle effectively (Proficiency in service management tools and software is a plus)
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) - min. B2 level
  • Good communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to solve complex issues / problems

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain core switches, Cisco ACI environments, firewalls, load balancers, and access switches within the central datacenter
  • Ensure high availability and optimal performance of all network components
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of core network architectures for location-specific datacenters
  • Provide expert consulting support to tiered locations on network design and implementation
  • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of network access services to ensure high availability and reliability, derive optimizations, and ensure all solutions comply with relevant security standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including managed service providers, software and hardware vendors, technical teams, and business units, to understand their needs and ensure the solutions align with their requirements
  • Driving escalation and problem management processes, coordinating complex incident and problem resolution with internal IT teams and external service providers
