Remote Lactation Consultant

Summary

The job is for a remote Lactation Provider who will provide virtual lactation care, collaborate with the interdisciplinary clinical team, and contribute to the development of patient-facing content and workflows. The role requires IBCLC certification, RN, RD, OT or SLP license, 3+ years in a hospital and/or healthcare practice, experience working with clients eligible for Medicaid and/or those accessing SNAP or WIC programs, expertise in care of dyad with complex breastfeeding problems, enthusiasm for diversity, equity, and inclusion, strong organizational skills, proficiency with email, spreadsheets, EHRs, and other commonly used software, a growth mindset, ability to travel occasionally and take flexible weekend/evening call hours, and fluent in English and Spanish is a bonus. The salary range is $65,000-$75,000.

Requirements

• IBCLC certification through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners
• Licensed as an RN, RD, OT or SLP
• If a registered nurse, residence in a compact nursing license state
• Have 3+ years in a hospital and/or healthcare practice
• Experience working with clients eligible for Medicaid and/or those accessing SNAP or WIC programs
• Expertise in care of dyad with complex breastfeeding problems
• Enthusiasm for promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of Pomelo’s internal and external programs
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple projects in a timely manner
• Facile with email, spreadsheets, EHRs, and other commonly used software, and willingness to work with new software
• A growth mindset with the ability to think critically and work both independently and collaboratively
• Ability to travel occasionally and take flexible weekend/evening call hours

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one virtual lactation care via text, app messaging, phone and video calls
• Teach group classes and facilitate support groups
• Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to build Pomelo with members of the clinical team as well as those on the Pomelo Care clinical operations, product, tech, and business teams
• Assist with the development and testing of patient engagement strategies
