Summary
Join our team as a Secret-Cleared Technical Lead for a high-priority Cloud-based data management platform within a secure government environment. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers and developers, guiding technical strategy and architecture for cloud-based data solutions. Responsibilities include project management, system architecture design, data engineering, ensuring security compliance, and stakeholder engagement. This primarily remote position requires some local commuting for client meetings. A Secret clearance is required, and a Top Secret clearance is desirable. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud technologies, data architecture, and software development within a secure government setting.
Requirements
- Have an Active SECRET Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET throughout employment
- Have a Bachelorโs degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Have 8+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud computing, and/or software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior technical role
- Have proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) in a secure government environment
- Have a strong understanding of cloud-native data technologies such as AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, AWS S3, Lambda, and ETL/ELT processes
- Have expertise in data pipelines, data warehousing, data lakes, and distributed data systems
- Have in-depth knowledge of security best practices and data governance frameworks in cloud environments
- Have strong problem-solving skills with a focus on scalability, cost efficiency, and high availability
- Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of data engineers, application developers, software architects, and User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) developers, driving best practices and technical innovation within the CHMR program
- Foster effective communication throughout the project lifecycle and ensure seamless collaboration between cross-functional teams
- Liaise between the development team, other departments, and management to ensure project alignment
- Be responsible for the successful execution of technical projects, ensuring that they meet quality standards, business objectives, and are delivered on time
- Identify and manage risks that could affect project delivery, using proactive risk planning, continuous monitoring, and contingency plans to keep projects on track
- Translate requirements into actionable plans and ensure that they are executed efficiently
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices and organizational standards throughout the project
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and operational procedures
- Design, implement, and optimize System-of-Systems (SOS) data architectures using existing Army data platforms ensuring scalability, security, and performance
- Oversee the design and development of data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouse solutions, ensuring proper data storage, processing, and retrieval across cloud environments
- Stay up to date on emerging data automation technologies and tools, evaluating their potential integration into existing systems
- Work closely with security teams to ensure that all solutions comply with FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP, and other relevant government regulations
- Implement best practices for securing sensitive data across cloud environments
- Collaborate with program managers, business analysts, and government clients to define technical requirements, develop roadmaps, and ensure the successful delivery of solutions
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, ensuring that project goals and progress are well understood across the organization
- Lead troubleshooting efforts, identify performance bottlenecks, and ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency
- Monitor and assess project performance continuously, adjusting as needed to achieve the desired outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Have a Masterโs degree in a relevant technical field
- Have experience working on classified or sensitive government contracts
- Have familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Have certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert)
- Have experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies
