Summary
Join Vee Healthtek as a Director, Lead Data Scientist and lead data-led initiatives transforming healthcare. This role requires reimagining data use to improve clinical and administrative tasks, collaborating with subject matter experts and business leaders. You will work with various teams to deliver insights, lead skunkworks projects, and build advanced data intelligence using AI, ML, NLP, and LLM. Strong communication and a background in healthcare, revenue cycle management, and finance are essential. The position reports to the Chief Digital Transformation Officer and requires significant data science experience and advanced degrees.
Requirements
- Have at least 10+ years of data science experience in a technology-centric business with 5+ years leading data-led initiatives
- Possess an advanced degree in Business or Engineering with a background in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Math or any combination thereof
- Demonstrate expertise in leveraging advanced techniques in areas such as deep learning, NLP, classification, predictive modeling, etc
- Possess expertise in advanced data science and computational concepts and techniques, machine learning, statistical analysis, and stochastic optimization
- Demonstrate expertise in identifying problems that could benefit using data science methods, working with client and internal leaders
- Have experience in breaking down the identified problems into smaller projects that deliver increasing yields
- Possess programming abilities in one high-level language, preferably Python and R
- Have strong project management abilities, ideally using agile methodologies
- Have experience with big data β data warehouses, data lakes, and related technologies
- Possess strong communication, project management and technical leadership skills with an enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary environment
- Have experience with healthcare data (Electronic Health Records, claims data)
- Be a US Permanent resident and reside in one of the following states: AZ, CT, FL, GA, LA, ME, MA, MI, MN, MS, MO, NV, NJ, NY, NV, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, and TX
Responsibilities
- Work with the client service teams, internal operations teams, and product team to advance approaches that best utilize our experience and insights to create valuable solutions for us and our clients
- Design, develop and implement methodologies and data science solutions using financial data to address operational and client needs
- Effectively use machine learning, statistics, financial and medical expertise to create rigorous data-based technology solutions
- Design and develop innovative technologies and solutions to advance our capability in our services for healthcare using data led insights
- Collaborate on software projects with engineers, provide analytical guidance and contribute to improving the underlying data architecture
Preferred Qualifications
- Have knowledge of principles of medical economics, clinical data-based decision systems, predictive modeling of health data from clinical, financial and personal sources
- Have software development experience
