Summary

Join our growing technology team as a Lead Data & Solutions Architect, bridging business stakeholders and IT to improve processes, integrate data, and drive technical innovation. You will act as a business analyst, data architect, and solution designer, building strong relationships and impacting change within the Translational Sciences business unit. Partner with the Biospecimen Solutions team to architect systems and integrations for operational efficiency and business growth. Design integrated solutions across diverse platforms to support operations, data analysis, business development, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include gathering business requirements, solution architecture, implementing software, data integrations, automations, and testing. This role requires strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent desired
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in IT, data, or business systems roles
  • 3+ years in cross-functional roles involving stakeholder engagement, solution design, or data architecture
  • Leadership potential or prior experience managing small teams or projects
  • Experience with the Development, Deployment, and ongoing Maintenance and Management of custom software solutions
  • Experience with software development lifecycle, Agile methodology, and web-based development platforms (i.e., GitLab, Azure DevOps or similar toolset)
  • Experience with Software Validation, Documentation and Application Lifecycle Deliverables
  • Strong adaptability and capacity to work in demanding environments
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask under pressure
  • Experience with Agile project management and DevOps tools (e.g., GitLab, Azure DevOps)
  • Proficiency in business process analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design
  • Familiarity with data modeling, integration design, and reporting concepts
  • Understanding of modern data platforms, APIs, and cloud technologies
  • Exposure to AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, etc
  • Ability to evaluate AI capabilities and identify practical use cases for automation, analytics, and decision support

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, and opportunities
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and documentation reviews to gather and refine requirements
  • Solicit and document business requirements; hold users accountable for UAT and feedback
  • Act as a trusted partner between business teams and IT; keep customers and stakeholders informed of the status of the product
  • Analyze existing systems and data flows to identify integration and reporting opportunities
  • Design and document scalable, compliant, and efficient technical solutions
  • Oversee implementation of custom software or COTS systems, including validation and documentation
  • Collaborate with internal development teams and external vendors to deliver solutions
  • Work with the corporate data warehouse team to align data architecture and pipelines
  • Define and maintain product roadmaps in collaboration with business owners
  • Manage product lifecycle from ideation through sunset
  • Prioritize and manage product backlog items; assist development teams in sprint planning
  • Coordinate product needs and challenges with IT and third-party vendors
  • Communicate product strategy and status to stakeholders
  • Provide mentorship and potentially lead a small team of engineers or analysts
  • Explore and propose innovative use cases for AI tools to enhance business processes and decision-making
  • Stay current with emerging AI technologies and assess their applicability in a regulated, data-rich environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, business or data analytics or a related field preferred
  • Experience designing or implementing AI-driven solutions is a strong plus
  • Experience with data warehousing technologies and architecture, like Snowflake
  • Experience with data visualization software, such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience with similar platforms or regulated systems in life sciences is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries along with a solid understanding of Good Documentation Practices and regulatory frameworks such as 21 CFR Part 11 is desired
