Requirements
- 10+ years experience in software engineering, preferably in a growth-focused engineering environment
- Proven experience in building scalable web applications and services, preferably in a cloud environment
- Proven experience in leading teams, managing development projects, and driving technical initiatives
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Next, GraphQL) and back-end technologies (Node.js, Redis)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
- Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in the software development process
- Strong sense of ownership and bias for action
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and development of both front-end and back-end components
- Coach, mentor, and set best practices for architecture, coding, delivery, and operation within your pod
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions
- Ensure the technical feasibility and scalability of UI/UX designs, translating them into functional and efficient code
- Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code while adhering to best practices
- Collaborate and build trust with other engineering teams, develop reusable, scalable designs, write and collaborate in RFCs, and build architecture diagrams that benefit the entire organization
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other issues in production systems
- Partner with key stakeholders in product, design, infrastructure, marketing, and project management guiding decisions based on your knowledge of the codebase
- Drive operational excellence, owning and reporting on
- Contribute to the strategic vision of the team as a technical leader, identifying new technologies that improve security, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Manage deployment, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure strategies
- Actively participate in sprint events to help drive continuous improvement in our process and culture
Preferred Qualifications
- Enjoy tech talks, katas, lunch and learns, and geeking over programming languages, architecture, category theory, or whatever engineering topic you are passionate about
- Enjoy talking to product, design, and business stakeholders to better understand the problem space
- Strong project management and knowledge of agile development practices
- Team leadership experience with training peer engineers
- Backend experience in Node/Nest.js and Kotlin
- Experience with Domain Driven Design
- History of implementing Micro Front-Ends
- Worked on a system that had to deal with internationalization and localization
