Summary

Join VetsEZ as a Lead IRIS Developer Familiar with FHIR to support the Health Data Management (HDM-VDIF) program. This role involves designing, coding, testing, and debugging various programming languages, integrating FHIR with existing systems, developing and supporting IRIS systems, maintaining and extending FHIR APIs, troubleshooting issues, creating documentation, and more.

Requirements

  • Strong FHIR knowledge: Proficiency in the FHIR standard, including various FHIR resources, profiles, extensions, and APIs
  • Healthcare data standards: Experience with other healthcare interoperability standards like HL7v2, CDA, and DICOM is preferred
  • 5+ years experience in Cache/InterSystems HealthShare UCR, IRIS database, ObjectScript, XSLT Development and/or MUMPS
  • 3+ Years FHIR experience
  • 5+ years of experience with software development and testing
  • Must have strong software development experience
  • Must have experience in Integration protocols such as TCPIP/MLLP, SFTP, REST, SOAP
  • Should have proficiency in CCDA, HL7, JSON and XML messaging

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop FHIR-based solutions: Build and implement APIs, data models, and solutions based on the FHIR standard to ensure seamless healthcare data interoperability
  • Integrate FHIR with existing systems: Work on integrating FHIR with various EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems, health information exchanges, and third-party healthcare applications
  • Develop and support IRIS systems, including creating design specifications and developing solutions
  • Maintain and extend FHIR APIs: Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of FHIR APIs
  • Build and maintain IRIS classes using VX130 Class Builder or the latest application
  • Write user guides, maintain documentation, monitoring processes, and ad hoc applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with journaling, data filing, and SQL table loads; perform IRIS instance upgrades and support high availability databases
  • Identify and address performance issues, collaborate with InterSystems for problem resolution, and update the IRIS Issues Report and Weekly Progress Report
  • Create detailed IRIS Classes Built Documents and update CACHE/IRIS Documentation
  • Debug and fix defects related to Cache/InterSystems HealthShare/IRIS, oversee best practices, participate in code reviews, and drive project goals in alignment with organizational objectives
  • Maintain and assist in documenting processes to support other development efforts

Preferred Qualifications

  • FHIR certification: HL7 FHIR Proficiency or Implementation Certification
  • Experience working with CI/CD Pipelines using GitLab is preferred
  • Experience in using Cache/IRIS/HealthShare Terminal sessions will be preferred
  • Strong knowledge of applying software development methodologies (SDLC, Agile) is an added advantage
  • Proficiencies in relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server will be a bonus
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or any related certification
