Summary
Join Mindera as a Lead Mobile Engineer to spearhead the strategy, development, and execution of mobile applications. Lead and mentor a high-performing team, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and propose cutting-edge technical architectures. Oversee development, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software using agile methodologies. Serve as a mobile technology expert, advocating for best practices and staying current with industry trends. Drive internal and client initiatives, fostering innovation and growth within the company. This role requires extensive experience in mobile engineering and a proven track record of success.
Requirements
- Proven experience (10+ years) in mobile engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong technical expertise in native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin) development: while Android and iOS native development is one of our big focus, we also have projects in React Native, Flutter, KMP/CMP, etc - having experience with more than one framework is a plus, but itβs only necessary to have deep knowledge of one and willingness to learn about the rest
- Experience leading teams of mobile engineers, ideally in a high-growth or consumer-facing company
- Deep understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns (MVVM, MVI, etc.), and platform-specific guidelines
- Track record of delivering and scaling complex mobile apps with millions of users
- Excellent communication (in English) and strategic thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of talented engineers and collaborate with product, design, and other cross-functional teams to deliver world-class mobile experiences to our users
- Propose technical state of the art architectures for a new app or the evolution of a current application
- Serve as a mobile technology expert and advocate across the company
- Knowledge of the state of the art technically
- Be aware or interested in learning the market trends in terms of Mobile products. Ex: is average time spent on a mobile purchase journey increasing in Retails Apps?
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing mobile engineering team
- Drive best practices in coding, architecture, security, and performance across mobile platforms
- Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of all mobile applications
- Have a clear vision for a quality driven approach to maintain app stability, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software through agile methodologies
- Partner with Product Management and Design to scope features and set technical direction
- Be able to collaborate with backend and web teams to ensure seamless API integration and consistent user experience
- Stay current with industry trends and assess emerging technologies for future mobile strategy: Ex: KMP+CMP vs Skip
- Drive internal and client initiatives around mobile: talks, workshops, etc
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of REST / GraphQL is a plus
- Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (e.g. React Native, KMP/CMP, Flutter etc)
- Experience working in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and app store release management
- Background in performance tuning, mobile analytics, and A/B testing
