Summary
Join Sinch as a Lead QA/QE Engineer and guide a team of five testing engineers based in Europe. This fully remote role, based in France, requires technical leadership and a focus on front-end testing excellence. You will plan and coordinate testing efforts, mentor your team, and contribute to manual testing, test plan creation, and automation. You will also investigate production bugs, implement preventive measures, and champion improvements in automation, performance, and security. Collaboration with developers, product managers, and support teams is crucial to ensure quality throughout the delivery cycle. The role involves fostering a culture of quality and continuous learning within the team.
Requirements
- Strong experience in JavaScript and test automation (Playwright preferred)
- Solid understanding of front-end testing strategies and defect root cause analysis
- Skilled in planning, prioritizing testing efforts, and defining test strategies
- Proven leadership in QA/QE roles, with clear and confident communication skills
- Comfortable working with distributed teams and cross-functional collaboration
- Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and drive for continuous improvement
- Relevant QA/testing certifications (e.g., ISTQB)
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical background
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of five talented QA/QE engineers, supporting their growth and development
- Plan and prioritize QA efforts in sync with development sprints and release timelines
- Be the key bridge between our QA and development teams, promoting clear communication and open collaboration
- Actively participate in the team’s operational work, including manual and automated testing, and shape our front-end test automation strategy, leveraging Playwright (JavaScript)
- Create and maintain reliable test plans and test cases for new features
- Investigate bugs from production or support-escalated issues, identify root causes, and drive long-term fixes
- Champion QA and QE best practices and automation, while driving improvements in tools, processes, and expanding into areas like performance, security, and accessibility testing
- Foster a culture of quality, proactivity, and continuous learning within the team, while aligning QA processes with broader product and engineering goals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accessibility, performance, and security testing
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and test integration
- Knowledge of additional programming languages (e.g., TypeScript)
- Familiarity with API and backend testing concepts
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and test infrastructure
