Summary

Join Firefly Health, a revolutionary healthcare company, and become a Lead Software Engineer on our core engineering team. Collaborate with clinical, operations, and product teams to build an integrated platform that proactively manages healthcare at scale. You will design and build technology for our health plan and care experiences, develop mobile and web applications, and refine workflows using machine learning. Integrate with third-party vendors and work on a member-facing platform and clinical intelligence platform. Own projects from start to finish, influence product and technical decisions, and contribute to team best practices. Help recruit engineers from diverse backgrounds. This role offers a largely remote work option with occasional onsite gatherings.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience writing production code across the stack

Responsibilities

  • Partner with our clinical, operations, and product teams to design and build technology underlying our alternate health plan and care experiences
  • Build beautiful mobile apps, web applications, and APIs that make high-quality health benefits and world class care accessible and engaging for members
  • Develop and refine agentic workflows using machine learning models to power automation and intelligence across our platform - including care management, navigation and proactive interventions
  • Integrate with third-party vendors and health tech innovations to expand our platform’s functionality, data sources, and member services
  • Work on a member-facing platform and clinical intelligence platform used by our care teams to deliver efficient, quality care
  • Own projects from ideation to release, influencing both product and technical decisions
  • Contribute to technical architecture and best practices across the team
  • Help recruit highly capable engineers to the team from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the specific technologies in our stack
  • Experience working with machine learning models, agentic workflows, or automation in the healthcare space
  • Experience with the messiness of healthcare data and ETL work

Benefits

This role can be done largely remotely, there are several times a year when staff come together onsite for planning and team building
