Summary
Join HubSpot's Commercial Legal Team as a Legal Counsel, providing crucial support to EMEA Sales Teams. You will offer first-line legal guidance on commercial matters, review and negotiate various agreements, collaborate with internal teams, and partner with sales stakeholders to achieve business objectives. This role demands a minimum of 3+ years of in-house legal experience, expertise in commercial contracts, and a strong understanding of data protection and EU privacy law. Successful candidates will possess excellent legal drafting skills, strong communication abilities, and a customer-centric approach. Requirements
- Are qualified to practice law in the Netherlands or have another reciprocal EU qualification
- Have a minimum of 3+ years of relevant in-house legal experience
- Have significant experience reviewing commercial contracts and feel comfortable running an independent negotiation process (Enterprise SaaS experience a plus) in Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Luxembourg) and the Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Finland)
- Have excellent legal drafting skills
- Have a strong foundation in data protection and EU privacy law
- Are enthusiastic about partnering cross functionally with business stakeholders to to understand strategic goals, and make informed recommendations to achieve business objectives
- Are able to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team
- Are able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and transparent environment
- Appreciate the customer perspective and βsolve for the customerβ mentality
- Develop strong relationships based on trust with team members
- Possess strong communication skills, especially via an internal wiki, Slack and Zoom (itβs how we communicate)
- Are self-driven and solution-oriented
- Are passionate about the values in the HubSpot Culture Code
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line client-centric legal support to our EMEA Sales teams on commercial and legal issues
- Review and negotiate commercial agreements, which may include SaaS agreements, data processing agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, master services agreements, and statements of work
- Work with other various business teams on a variety of legal processes as needed
- Partner closely with Sales stakeholders to understand the business objectives and hurdles, and drive strategic improvements
- Collaborate with other legal and compliance practice groups to accelerate and unlock growth for HubSpot with a customer-centric mindset
