Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in law firms or in-house roles
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts
  • Extensive experience with employment law, M&A, and litigation management with strong business acumen
  • Knowledge of global compliance, data privacy, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication skills to advise executive teams and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to work independently as the sole legal person without leading a team
  • An agile professional who excels in a fast-paced setting, continuously adapting strategies to drive business needs forward
  • Reside in or are willing to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including sales agreements, vendor and partnership contracts, purchase agreements, and more. Ensure all contracts align with the company’s strategic goals and mitigate potential risks
  • Advise on employment law matters, including employee relations, policy compliance, and dispute resolution. Collaborate closely with HR to develop and implement company policies that comply with local and international laws
  • Lead and manage all legal aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and post-transaction integration. Provide strategic guidance to the leadership team on potential risks and opportunities related to these activities
  • Identify, assess, and manage legal risks across the company. Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard the company’s interests
  • Monitor and advise on regulatory developments that may impact the company’s operations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, national, and international regulations and industry standards, with a particular focus on data privacy and governance
  • Protect and manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights
  • Oversee and manage all litigation matters, working with external counsel as necessary, and represent the company’s interests in disputes
  • Serve as the primary legal advisor to the business, providing clear and actionable legal advice on various matters
