Summary
Join Ventrata's finance team as a Legal Counsel and contribute to the success of this rapidly expanding SaaS platform. You will play a key role in contract negotiation, compliance management, data protection, employment law, intellectual property, and external counsel oversight. This position requires a qualified solicitor with 5β7 years of PQE, ideally in SaaS or technology. You will provide legal advice across multiple jurisdictions and support large enterprise sales deals. The ideal candidate is proactive, solution-focused, and possesses excellent communication skills. Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with 5β7 years of PQE, ideally in the SaaS or technology sector
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Solid knowledge of UK and international laws (GDPR, IP, and employment law)
- Proven ability to manage diverse legal matters in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills to convey legal concepts to non-legal teams
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (e.g., SaaS, licensing, partnerships)
- Maintain scalable contract templates and streamline negotiation processes
- Ensure compliance with UK and international laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and export controls
- Identify and mitigate global regulatory risks
- Lead data privacy compliance, develop policies, and advise on GDPR and global data protection
- Provide legal advice on employment matters across jurisdictions, including disputes and regulatory compliance
- Manage trademarks, copyrights, and patents
- Protect proprietary technology and software
- Oversee external legal advisors and provide internal training on key regulatory changes
- Support large enterprise sales deals to ensure compliance during negotiations and execution
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with global operations and cross-border legal issues
- Understanding of software licensing and subscription services
- Based in the Czech Republic
- Proactive and solution-focused with attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Collaborative yet independent worker with a commercial mindset
