Legal Fellow

Summary

Join the Vera Institute of Justice as a Clifford Chance Foundation Fellow for a year-long residency in their Legal Department. The fellow will provide comprehensive in-house legal services and work closely with the General Counsel and staff. This is an opportunity to gain experience in nonprofit compliance, negotiation, lobbying law, and employment law, while working on strategic advice and counsel to projects.

Requirements

• Recent graduate of accredited U.S. law school
• Assessed based on scholarship, leadership, and commitment to practicing in the field of nonprofit law

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive in-house legal services to the organization
• Work closely with Vera's General Counsel and staff
• Gain experience as part of the team providing strategic advice and counsel to projects, with a particular focus on Vera’s Unlocking Potential Initiative

Benefits

• $70,000, plus excellent benefits
• Hybrid schedule with 10 days per month in-office
