Join Neal R. Gross & Co. (NRGCO), a Washington, DC-based court reporting and transcription company, as a work-from-home legal and general transcriber. This is a 1099 subcontractor position requiring a minimum of 3 hours of transcription per week. Excellent English skills, accuracy, and timeliness are essential. Requirements

• Excellent command of the English language
• Ability to transcribe at least 3 hours of audio per week
• Accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling
• Attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines
• High-speed internet connection
• Internet research skills
• Must be a US citizen
• WordPerfect and/or MSWord
• Windows Operating System
• FTP Player (free download)
• ExpressScribe (free download)
• FileZilla (free download)
• Must type at least 60 WPM
• Ability to transcribe a minimum of 3 hours of audio per week

Responsibilities

• Accurately transcribe audio provided via FTP
• Transcribe in a timely fashion
• Adhere to the provided format for transcripts
• Send completed verbatim transcripts
• Proofread all work before submission

Preferred Qualifications

• Legal transcription experience
• USB foot pedal (Infinity is a popular model)
• AAERT certification
